Listed as IPA Squared, on tap at Lucky Baldwins. Pours with a large, creamy, off-white head covering a clear amber body. Good retention left by the head. Aroma is malty and a bit spicey with a bit of grapefruit zest and earthy hops. A bit of wheat and caramel too. Taste is very malty with a couple notes of something that reminds me of rye. Lightly hoppy. Very odd tasting DIPA. Syrupy mouthfeel with light carbonation and a pleasant aftertaste.

Thanks to goldtwins for sharing - fiery orange pour with a sticky lace - very bready, medium sweet aroma - fairly smooth, with well-masked alcohol, but also pretty thin - medium bitterness that tastes almost metallic - kind of corn/adjunct flavor at the end - so so.

Thanks to Lowe1983 for the bottle. Deep copper/orange pour with a medium tan head. Suprised by the aroma. Toasty caramel malts dominate. Sweet, dark fruits, plums, not much in the way of hops. Hmm, IIPA? Flavor is malty, toasted, some grassy hops, resiny, and caramel. Finishes bitter with the alcohol finally making itself known. This is more of an English style IIPA, with a fair amount of malts and not enough hops for my taste. Medium body. A little dissapointed. (Rated simultaneously with Lowe1983 in separate hemispheres)

Bottle from sampler picked up at Beverage Castle in Tampa. Poured a gorgeous clear deep copper/orange with nice of white head. The aroma is a thicket of malty sweet sticky caramelized malts, pine hopes and sweet tangelo juice citrus hops. Yum. The flavor has grapefruit hop bitterness and even more aggressive pine hop bitterness. Competing noticeably against the dangerous hops duo is rich caramelized malts with notes of dark toasted seven grain bread that’s way more toasty than bready. As the finish approaches the hops subside just a bit and the malts are joined by subtle pale grainy maltiness. Then the pine hops return and usher the taste experience into the after taste supported by ample amounts of grapefruit sweet nectar. There’s also an under current of faint alcohol throughout.

(Bottle 47 cl) Clear, amber golden with an off-white head. Somewhat unclean malt aroma. Medium body and light touch of alcohol - somewhat oxidized. A crude and brutal bitterness. Not pleasant. 011206

I like this one...even though it was best by April 2003 and here it is, November. A malt dominated IPA...I'd like to try some other samples(Kind of reminded me of a Fuller's product)of this style even though I'm a natural born hophead. :^)

Lots of hops in the aroma as well as fruit. Great appearance with a huge cream colored head. The beer is a great amber color. The sweetest ipa I have had, also flavor of hops and wood. Bitter aftertaste. This bottle was 4 months past the exp. date.
