Deliciously hoppy, with an undercurrent of flavorful and provocative organic malts, Butte Creek Organic Pale Ale is sure to please hop lovers everywhere. We hand craft this IPA with the generous use of Organic New Zealand Pacific Gem and Cascade hops in the brew kettle, after which we dry hop the beer with Organic Cascade and Wakatu hops to achieve that perfectly pleasant, piney aroma and floral, citrusy hop notes that make this IPA incredible. But beer is not only about hops, it is about balance. The powerful hop presence is equitably enhanced with our careful blending of Organic Pale, Caramel-60, and Wheat malts to provide a solid base and full bodied mouth feel. This is the IPA enjoyed by lovers of hops, lovers of beer, and lovers of socially responsible organic products. 6.5% ABV, OG 15.5, IBU 51.

Clear golden coloured body with a thin white head. Aroma of fresh hops with a good malt presence, coupled with grapefruit and a bit of pine. Medium-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour shows serious hops, fresh malt and a little bit of a metallic twang. Aftertaste has a good malt backbone with some pungent alcohol and more of a hop flavour with a bitter hop finish. Overall, a good IPA, but not amazing. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased on 06-June-2008 from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan sampled on 09-August-2008.

(Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Dark amber colour with brief head. Fruity, floral nose with notes of grapefruit, pine needles and hints of sweat. Fruity, hoppy taste with grapefruit, pine needles, resin and a fairly dry, metallic bitterness in the finish. Not the most exciting american IPA, but still solid and nice.

Bottle courtesy of CBA: Poured a medium amber color ale with a big foamy head with good retention but no lacing. Aroma of bitter hops with some caramel malt notes. Taste is also dominated by some bitter hoppy notes with a nice caramel malt profile. Medium body with some good carbonation. Nothing extraordinary but a well done beer as per style guideline.

Light floral hop aroma. Nice copper color with an off-white head that sort of sticks around and shows shreds of lace. Body a bit thin. Different spicy hop, followed by malt, but the malt is not there that long in flavor. Thereβs a thickening that could be sugars, but the semi-spice/semi-bitter hop dominates, even through the finish. Pretty interesting flavor.

A hazy orange beer with a dense orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with light hoppy notes - light for being an American IPA, and a bit of caramel, leading to a very bitter and dry end.

22oz bomber. Clear copper color with tan head. There is a light aroma with pine hops and malts. Flavor has a mix of sweetness and bitterness. Not sure if the mixture works for me. Pine hop bitterness with a touch of grapefruit. The malts jump out as really sweet. Nearly sugar sweet. Not really fruity or roasted or caramel like. Yet another Organic beer fails to deliver for me.

Cloudy amber color with a small white head. Taste is very hoppy with lots of citrus and grapefruit tones. Slight maltiness, but mostly hops. Crisp finish is smooth and satisfying.
