500ml Flasche. Trübes goldgelbes Bier mit schöner cremigen Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, fruchtig. Geschmack hefig, fruchtig nach Banane, minimal würzig.

Bottle at Spezial Keller. A smoked weisse beer? Ok. Well yes an edge of tcp on the aroma. Yes settles down and has some drinkability. The smoke fades into a simple malty weisse. Some hop on finish. Not complex surprisingly this is mostly about the smoke aroma.

0.5l bottle. Hazy orange body, white head. Aroma of bread, banana and it has a light smoke character to it. Taste of bread, banana, a bit of smoke and floral hops. OK weizen.

Draught at Spezial, Bamberg. Opaque orange beer with a thin head. There is quite a bit of smoke in the aroma and the flavor, which I believe comes from being near their smoked beer rather than actually being smoked itself. Sweet wheat, cloves, banana are all in there too. Made to a high degree of quality. Full palate, and the smoke works very well.

Tap @ brewery in Bamberg. Cloudy, somewhat dark orange appearance with an off white head. Orange citrusy, rich clove, banana yeasty, very nice wheat malty aroma. Tangy/lightly sour orange citrusy, rich yeasty banana, delicious wheat flavor. Nice Hefe!

At the brewpub. Slightly hazy old gold body with a white head. Somewhat chewed-up bubblegum and cloves in the nose. Light sweetish taste, with very light, pleasant notes of banana. Not much smoke. All in all, quite nice, though not as stunning as the Altstadtshof I’d had some hours earlier in Nürnberg.
