330 ml bottle, bb 25/04/19.
Dark copper-brown body, with a medium, creamy, lacing, beige head.
Aroma of caramel fudge, milk chocolate, moderate whiskey, wood, blueberry, dried fruits, cocoa, moderate fruity hops, slight coffee.
Tastes quite similar, while hoppier, with slight alcohol.
Full, oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes bitter-sweet, wooden, warm, hoppy, zesty, with whiskey, tobacco, dark fruits, cocoa, coffee.

Tasty. Pretty much as expected, with hoppy, roasty and warm whiskey notes. Still really interesting, with a great balance and a smooth, creamy character, the whiskey barrel is very well integrated.

Bottle. Pours almost black with some little head. Aroma of dark malts and herbal hops as well as berries, maybe blueberries and raspberries. Really hoppy considering this isn't the freshest. Definitely some vanilla and maybe some wood. Medium to big body yet not heavy. Flavour is surprisingly mild but doesn't lack complexity. Lots of dark malts with medium roastiness, coffee and chocolate notes abound. Vanilla sweetness from the oak and some whisky, though the vanilla is quite a lot stronger. Lovely herbal hops with berry notes, quite hoppy with medium bitterness. Finishes hoppy-herbal and bittersweet, with a somewhat whisky-boozy aftertaste. An amazing black IPA.

Sampled from 0.33 l bottle, best before April 2019. Clear, very dark brown to black with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity-resiny and moderately roasty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, tropical fruits and some pine. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty, quite fruity-resiny taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, tropical fruits and some pine, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, earthy-dry and slightly resiny finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!
