Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is sweet malt with caramel, "appelstroop", sharp whiskey, wood, soft roast, chocolate, dried fruits, green apple, alcohol, and some paint thinner. Flavour is sweet with a mild bitterness and some booze in the finish. Body is full. Decent Barley Wine but it's too bad about the sharpness and green apple notes. A bit of a disappointment after the refined 18.09.

Can on 20th Anniversary Day. Almost black with a thin, tan head that soon fades. Aroma of raisins, oak, prunes and toffee. Taste has a slight tartness on a mildly sweet base. Thicker and richer at the end with an uptick of toffee. Full bodied, very mild carbonation. Pleasant sipping.

33cl can de Malt Attacks.

A very peculiar set of flavours going on here. Lots of whisky apples from the Kees barrels, pretty boozy barleywine, something sweet, and for some reason an enormous amount of salty licorice flavours. Completely unbalanced, but somehow it comes together.

Can. Dark amber color. Malt, dried fruit and whisky in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor, almost vinous, vanilla, whisky, toffee. Hint of oak. Complex, likeable.

Taste: bit sweet, lots and lots of alcohol, ripe melons, slightly bitter, soft roast, lots of caramel, whisky. Aftertaste: sweetish and sugary, alcohol, some malts, caramel, soft roast, very nice, bit too much alcohol maybe.

Many thanks to kappldav123 for sharing this can! Deep fruity thick nose of dried raisins with malts. The beer starts fruity with a deep and roasted smooth woody back. Raisins, wood. The beer is malty and well-balanced with the hints of alcohol and the nice fruity dark molasses raisin wood there. Nice one.

Dose: Almost black, presumably clear, small but lasting off-white to amber head, solid sweet nose of wood and vanilla, molasses and port-wine, a bit boozy; solid sweet flavour with a slight bitterness, full bodied - what else, but not that soft; lingering fruity-chocolatey finish (Mon Cherie) with boozy traces in the aftertaste. Another light thirst-quencher...
