This 8% abv stout has long been a secret pleasure among beer connoisseurs and indeed our Brewers, who value the mouth watering intensity of its roasted malt, smoked wood and dark chocolate notes, not to mention it's excellent and seemingly endless finish. Since 1944 we have been exclusively exporting this same special stout from Ireland into Belgium through the vibrant port of Antwerp. This is the first time we're making it available for general release in America.

Near black with a tall beige head. Roasted malts, sour dark fruit background, chocolate, faint smoke. Medium body. Lingering tart and roasted malt. A very enjoyable stout. Labeled as Antwerpen Stout.

Bottle, as "Antwerpen." Dark brown, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, lactic twang. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, minty hops. Medium bodied, well balanced. Nice.

Bottle: (as Antwerpen) Pours nearly black with a thick, chunky, dark tan head. Dark roasty chocolate, coffee aroma. Taste is slightly ashy bitter, coffee grounds and dark chocolate malt......some vanilla notes. Very good.....nicely full-bodied.
