Bruce describes his classic German-style lager as "pale gold in color with a blend of Pilsner maltiness and a mild hops aroma. The bitterness is just enough to balance the taste of the malt."
Bruce is a former music teacher who began homebrewing 13 years ago when his wife gave him a kit for Christmas. He has since become an accomplished homebrewer and shares his knowledge and passion for beer by teaching classes in homebrewing and beer appreciation.

Overall Impression: Out of the LongShot pack from I believe 2007? I remeber thinking this was decent but unremarkable. Old notes had it rated here, so I'll just trust those...

Bottle from Odeed; Nose of grassy hops, light sweetness, and a perfumy rose odor; lightly hazed gold with a small white head; flavor is slightly sweet grain and light peppery spiciness.

Very slightly hazy golden coloured body with a nice dense off-white coloured head. Very nice looking beer! Aroma of fresh malt, lemons, yeast, pears and a bit of fresh hops - really nice as well! Medium-bodied; Strong malt backbone - more than you’d expect, plus a potent hop flavour up front shows well. Aftertaste is oddly chewy, with yeast and wheat more noticeable than anything else. Sweetness lingers on the palate - but not overpowering. Overall, a decent beer - I think I liked this better than most, but there isn’t anything necessarily wrong with this offering. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle pulled from the six-pack sampler, drunk on 18-Dec-07.

12oz bottle-pours a foamy white head and hazy yellow color. Aroma is light-malt, grain, secondary citrus/herbal hops. Taste is light-malt, grain, secondary citrus/herbal/spicy hops. OK carbonation. Slight syrupy yet semi-dry mouth feel.

Courtesy of Quake1028. It pours a clear deep gold or pale copper with thin off white head. The aroma is malty, pale malts and grains. The flavor is nice with pale to grainy malts and some malt sweetness. Very nice flavor mixture, some Munich too maybe. It seems a little too sweet as the taste moves forward but the grainy and pale malt flavors even things out.

Aroma of lighter malt with noticeable hop. Brassy color with a decent white head that even attempts to lace. Medium bodied, starts a bit sweet from the malt, there is a hop bite that pleasantly offsets the malt, and the finish has enough bitter to satisfy. There are some delicate fruit notes along the way.

Creamy head...golden color...malty aroma...smells better than it tastes..a mild malty flavor...decent balance...reminds me of a baby Scottish ale...a bit bitter on the finish...an easy going brew

Pours a clear golden color with a medium and foamy white head that lasts awhile. Minimal lacing on the glass. The aroma is mildly hoppy with touches of yeast and grass. Light, dry body with a clean malt and hops flavor, as well as a bit of spice. The finish is earthy malt with a light spice aftertaste. Above average for the style but I was hoping for a little more out of a homebrewer who made the big time.

A golden lager with a thin white head. A grassy malt aroma. In mouth, a crisp malt with chalky notes, rather mineral. Medium bodied. Bottle at 11th Annual CNY Brewfest, Feb.5 2007.
