Draught@TCBW2023. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is nutty, some lactose and vanilla with chocolate and some slight toffeeish and fudgey tones. Flavour is chocolate, some nutty and mild toasted tones along with some lactose, vanilla and mild fudgey tones to it.

A small taste on tap @ TCBW 2023. Pours very dark brown with a low head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts with vanilla. Flavor is sweet roasted malts, vanilla, marshmallow, hops. Good.

On tap at Beer O'Clock Chamonix. Dark, dark mahogany coloured with a modest, beige head. Roasty aroma with dark chocolate, dark dried fruits, caramel and hints of coffee and cocoa milk. Sweet and chocolaty with a certain bitterness in the finish.

Un grand merci Vincent pour cette découverte et désolé si celle si n'a pas été à mon goût. Mais les découvertes, bonnes ou mauvaises font également parti de l'intérêt que nous portons à la bière. Déjà, je dois avouer de ne pas être fan des sweet stout, et même des bières de trop sucrées. Cet Freakaboo, avec ajout de chamallow et vanille aurait pu avoir un côté régressif sympa. Encore aurait-il fallu que ces arômes soient plus discrets, mieux intégrés à la base. Ici ils deviennent vite prédominants ce qui couplé avec un sucre très présent la fait devenir écœurante. Coup raté pour la Débauche. Visuellement, c'est un noir profond, sans mousse. Du classique. Le nez est sur le chocolat, la vanille, le caramel et la guimauve. L'attaque est sur un bon équilibre malt/houblon avec un chocolat qui domine, permettant de garder un équilibre correct. Un léger poivre se fait également ressentir. Pas de grande complexité toutefois. La texture est très adéquate, légèrement suave. A partir de la seconde bouche vanille et guimauve prennent le contrôle. L'alcool à 8% ne contrebalancent pas le sucre et ne se ressent pas. L’arrière-bouche, est tout de même un peu plus amère. En troisième bouche vanille et guimauve montent encore d'un cran et deviennent écœurantes. Le final long, est sur un duo chocolat/vanille un peu plus plaisant. Freakaboo...je n'en suis pas arrivé à bout.
