Sampled at zythos 2018. Thnx for sharing, everyone! Pours muddy amberblonde. Yeast haze Is not the defining facrit of a NEIPA... Goddamn... Smell is yeasty ( sigh...) taste is soft. Bitter. Powdery. Less bad than it seemed like it was gonna be. But still. This is yet another prove most brewers don't have a clue what a NEIPA is.

Brewery Broers in Wachtebeke trying to lure the hipsters with this attempt at the most crazed beer style of the moment, a style hardly known in Belgium so far outside of beer geek subculture. Creamy but bit irregular, egg-white, slightly opening head over a cloudy, warm peachy orange blonde beer with ochre-ish hue - a tad darker and murkier than what I am used to from the average American NEIPA. Aroma of stale old lime juice, dried mango, white bread dough, passionfruit, sweat, old bread crust, grapefruit peel, cold onion soup. Sweetish and sourish onset, quite 'full' with mango, passionfruit and sweet grape notes alongside a less exotic peachy aspect, but all in a somewhat dullish way; softish carb, smooth and bit fluffy mouthfeel, bready malt base. Second half shows oniony and grapefruity hoppiness, rather 'dank' with still some more colourful passionfruit aspects, with a quite long, spicy bitterness down below in the back of the mouth - a bit too much so for the intended style. In all, not such a bad attempt at NEIPA coming from a rather classically oriented Flemish brewery, but clearly not in mint condition anymore, I guess this has seen a bit too much oxygen already; not lusciously aromatic enough for the style either. Enjoyable, but BBP (in collaboration with Weird Beard, admittedly), Ghent's city centre Brouwbar and Totem have all done - or are doing - better NEIPAs.

Bottle. Murky orangeish color with white head. Aroma is tropical fruits, straw, herbal, murky yeasts. Taste is grassy hops, mealy. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. This has not much to do with a NEIPA.

Thank you for sharing RB People! Sampled @ ZBF 2018. Murky hideous rotting brownish. Nose is dull rotting yeast, pine, hay, harsh pine, raw. Taste is spoiled BE yeast, lactose, murky pine resin, sweet yeast, real mess, murky, pine, finish is lactose, total mess of a bad. Real mess of an attempt at an NEIPA.

21/IV/18 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ Schola family party - BB: IV/2019 (2018-467)

Very cloudy beige to amber beer, small creamy irregular off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lovely stuff, lots of tropical fruits, passion fruit, some elder flowers, little cheesy, dank, nice fresh hops, bit of citrus, really lovely stuff! MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of fresh dank hops, super hoppy, bit resinous, nice bitterness, dank hops, citrus, lots of lovely hops, bit sweetish, very nice stuff! Tasted it again at Zythos Bierfestival exactly one week later, and it had already started oxidizing, tasted again more than a month later, and it had completely oxidized. Too bad, it was a really well done NEIPA, I really loved the hops when it was very fresh! I even had like three or four of them, and anyone who knows me a little bit, knows what that means! ;-)
