Slightly cloudy light copper and bronze coloured body with a large, relatively soapy pure white head. Aroma of very nice and crisp mangoes with some yeast, bread, light alcohol, crisp wheat malt and a bunch more mangoes noticeable in the nose - very nice and incredibly pungent. Medium-bodied; Assertive mango flavour coupled with a good dose and relatively strong wheat flavour as well with a large punch of flavours, along with some yeast/bread notes and finishing with even a noticeable amount of alcohol warmth. Aftertaste shows the fruits front and centre with a little guava and orange note along with the wheat flavours, but far and away the strongest is mangoes which are noticeable immediately. Overall, a nice and very refreshing fruit-based hef with a very nice look and an incredibly pungent (for the style) flavour that shows quite well. Nice to sample and especially when it's hot/and or you've just exercised a bit. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 12-September-2017 for US$2,99 sampled at home in Washington after running the USMC Marathon 2017 on 22-October-2017 for the seventh time.

12 oz can. Pours a cloudy gold color with a large off-white head and very good retention. Minimal lacing. Strong Belgian yeast flavor and only minor citrus taste. More hefe than fruit beer. Soft mouthfeel.

12 ounce can into weizen glass, canned on 6/29/2017. Pours very hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of juicy/lightly tart mangos, banana, bubblegum, pepper, clove, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, mangos, bready malt, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big juicy/lightly tart mangos, banana, bubblegum, pepper, clove, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/grassy bitterness, yeast spiciness, and mango tartness, and wheat tang on the finish. Lingering notes of mangos, banana, bubblegum, pepper, clove, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, mangos, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly tangy/sticky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is a delicious fruited hefeweizen. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, mangos, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, flavorful, and refreshing to drink. Really great balance between fruit, yeast, and malts; with a nice well rounded yeast ester profile that delivers on my expectations for the style completely. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Can, Legacy. Cloudy and tan. Sweet phenolic nose. Phenols, not good ones. No mango, sloppy hefe.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a hazy tangerine color with a thin off-white head that evaporates to nothing quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruit and wheat. Light body with a fruity character that does have some mango and melony notes, along with a touch of spice and wheat. The finish is fruity and clean with a sweet finish. Slightly above average overall.

Creamy orange in color with a white head. Sweet aroma with malts, mango, light citrus, some light spices, as well. Flavor was fairly sweet, too. Malty, mango, some orange, and very light spices. Refreshing and easy drinking in the warmth of a Maui afternoon. My girlfriend really enjoyed this one and we ended up with a growler of it in our fridge.
