Can(s) picked up at BD Castlegate. It pours very lightly hazy golden - amber with a small white head. The aroma is juicy, sticky, oily, resinous, green, grassy, spicy, stewed orange, toffee and peach. The taste is dry, bitter, chewy, spicy, grassy, pithy, zesty, soapy, raw alcohol, rind citrus, toffee and weed with a drying and warming finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A bit spice. Fair.

Dan's Stag. Train rate. Thanks to Paul and Dave for the cans. Light haze on this amber beer, small cream colour head. Airy palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Fluffy dry malts, dry creamy sweetness. Quite a bitter hop profile. Spicy bitterness followed by bitterish orange peel. Trace of ripe mango. Smooth dry finish. Whisper of milky sweetness. Spicy linger. Decent.

Cans shared on the train to Bristol. Courtesy of Paul and Dave - straight degenerates. Pours mostly clear deep orange with a creamy, off-white head. The nose holds lightly toasted malts, aged grass, pine. Light to medium sweet flavour, some toasted grains, grass, old citrus peel. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, with sturdy bitterness, dried orange rind, grass. So so overall. Probably a little faded, and also pretty old school.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 11/18/2016. Pours slightly hazy medium orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity hops and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine/citrus peel/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; with a nice malt/bitterness balance. Slight lingering hop astringency near the end of the glass, but not overwhelming. Light-moderate dryness from lingering bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/sticky, and light resin/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Mildly warming alcohol for 8.5%. Overall this is a very nice DIPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. Very juicy/fruity on hops with balancing malts; but never overly sweet, thanks to the lingering/drying bitter hop resins. A very enjoyable offering.
