Bottleshare on the England Football team night of shame! Thanks to Leighton. Almost opaque dark - brown beer, pale tan head. Smooth palate, modest carbonation. Tangy dark malts, mellow earth and dark chocolate. Tangy dark fruits getting a little red wine fruity. Light semi dry finish. Mild spicy linger. Decent.

Bottle at Bespin, thanks to LKS, 27/06/16. Light black with a decent beige swirl. Nose is soy sauce, spice, dark fruit rinds, black pepper, cocoa notes. Taste comprises tarte dark fruit, red berry must, chocolate notes, dark malt, spice, light charr. Medium + body, fine carbonation, tangy dark fruit esters in the close. Ok offering but more like a dark sour/wild than a saison.

Bottle thanks to LKS. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, roasted malt, tangy dark fruits, jammy berry, liquorice, treacle and umami. The aroma is smooth, rich roasted malt, sweet molasses, tangy fruits, jammy berry, some fruity acidity, roasted malt, touch of alcohol and light spice with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Interesting and pretty enjoyable.

Bottle shared in London - picked up at New Beer Distributors. Pours somewhat oily brown with a slender, creamy tan head. Ripening dark fruits in the nose, plum, light toffee, faint roast. Light to medium sweet flavour with subtly tangy dark berries, hints of chocolate, tar, roast, scorched earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming in the finish, somewhat drying, with more cocoa, ripe dark berries, plum, toffee. Great depth to this one.

On tap at Artistic Table. It pours a very dark brown color with a creamy light tan head. The aroma is fruity with some fig, raisin, plum and hints of cocoa and malt. The flavor is nice with more fig, some peppery yeast and light acidity, but not sour by any means. Full bodied mouthfeel. A little roast with hints of pepper in the finish. Overall, fruity and rich with subdued but noticeable spicy yeast character. I liked it.

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 11/23/2014. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy tan head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, licorice, raisin, prune, fig, red grape, tobacco, pepper, clove, herbal, light smoke, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and fruity/spicy yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of big chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, licorice, raisin, prune, fig, red grape, pepper, clove, tobacco, light smoke/char, herbal, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Good amount of earthy/peppery yeast spiciness and light tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, licorice, dark fruit, pepper, clove, and yeast/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. High carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/prickly, and lightly creamy/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very nice farmhouse imperial stout style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the ABV with the high amount of carbonation. A very enjoyable offering.

325 c&c from Best Damn Beer Shoppe. Pours very dark brn/blk with a slight dark tan head. Aroma is very nice, but I lack descriptive terms. Sort of dark/fruity doesn’t do it justice. Full bodied or nearly. Flavor is fruit and malt with tobacco notes (or leather). It has a certain spicy tingle that is difficult to find words for. This one is about as mysterious and complex as I can recall. Drinks really nicely!
