Draught from whole foods alexandrai. caramel and raisins. red, brown, pour with white beighe head. Sweet and malty and fruity. Good.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, relatively thick tan head, about three centimetres tall. Aroma of pitted fruit, caramel, raisins, figs, plums, grain and a quite big alcohol scent as well as some yeast throughout. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong yeast and bready flavour with a big dose of caramelised sugar, grain, alcohol, pitted fruits, roast, light coffee, a touch of chocolate, some lactose and a deeper raisin and fig finish that shows nice and some pleasant complexity throughout. Aftertaste is a touch thin, probably due to the age, with some rich sugars, a lot of yeast and complexities from the belgian yeast strain, but also some deeper earthier notes from the malt and sugars. Overall, a nice and robust Quadruple with a good sweet bite that hits like a Chimay Blue but also shows some light spices, earth from malt and grain like a Westmalle Dubbel, both of which are pleasant references. Good to try, especially after these years and the biggest of Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles, which is why I'm drinking this beer now. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (Foggy Bottom, Eye Street, N.W.), D.C. on 15-July-2015 for US$4,99 sampled at home in Washington after the Philadelphia Eagles won Super BowlLII (pronounced Bowl-ee) on 04-February-2018 as this was the closest beer that I had to Philly.

I am not always crazy about Weyerbacher but this was a very good beer. Dark brown, sediment, and some red when held up to the light. Aroma has malt, yeast, and some anise. Clearly a Belgian style ale from the aroma. Flavor is sweet and surprisingly well carbonated for a beer with a few years of age. Sweet, fruit, more anise, good malt flavor but I am not getting any coriander. This is not as amazing as Cuvee van de Kaiser noel, but a great American attempt.

Bottle. Deep brown body with a foamy tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, raisin, fig, cherry. The flavor is heavily sweet and mildly bitter. It finishes moderately to heavily sweet and mildly bitter. Medium body, watery/slick texture, moderate carbonation. Way too sweet. Way to little Belgian yeast character. Taste of sweet fruit and alcohol.

Bottle from my cousin John B. Right on target Belgian strong ale, Dark brown with ruby tinge, no head. Big full aroma of raisins and fruitcake. Taste is also fruity (plums), medium slick body. Not feeling the booze right away, burn comes late and deep down. Happy Birthday, Weyerbacher!

Bottle. A- Licorice, subtle spices, cola, dark cherries, plums. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, minimal beige head. T- Anise, cola, spices. P- Medium body, thin texture, medium high carbonation, light finish. O- Surprised with the amount of carbonation in here. Not as tuned as one would hope. Plenty of anise/licorice and a bit of cherry cola but otherwise a less than impressive beer. Can’t believe it’s 11% though.

From a 12 oz bottle at home.it is a cloudy amber color with a slight Head the aroma is of cherries and the taste is of thick cough syrup and a hint of black licorice

From a 12 oz bottle at home. Pors a clear cola brown with an ecru head. Aroma of caramel and anise. Flavors of licorice and toffee. BItter finish.

Candi and fig nose. Clear rust, thick tan head. Fig, plum, anise, and dried leaves. Medium body, harsh, warm. Really neat beer. Don’t pair it with black pepper, you’ll miss a lot of the complexities.
