A traditional mead made with wildflower honey from the thumb area of Michigan. The honey makes a richly complex mead, full of aromas and flavors of many of Michigan’s natural flora. We age this mead on American oak wich softens it and adds some nice vanilla notes.

Very pale. Looks like white wine. Full-bodied mead aroma with lots of wildflower notes. Sweet but pulling some meady , woody notes in the finish and just enough alcohol to dry things out.

Re-rate: Bottle shared @ Top Hops. Old score: 2.2. Flowery scent. Pollen, wax, simple syrup. Taste has a flat Sierra Mist citrus sweetness to it. Caramel. Mellow alcohol. Sturdy texture. Grain finish. Inoffensive. Better. Huge disappointment with this. Shared this with an unlucky friend. Duvel baby tulip. Clear pale lager color, slight haze. Oniony/moldy/mushroom-y scent. Peppermint & plastic. Some odd cork interaction going on. Taste is sweet & citrusy upfront. Toasty oak, followed by ugly menthol, bitter stems & melting plastic. Semi-glutenous consistency. Thick. Waxy flavor & texture. Sweet & violent. Good in straight cold shots, but not much else.

A golden yellow mead with a lightly funky mineral honey aroma. In mouth, a sweet mead with honey and corn syrup, treacle, so-so. Bottle at Boston Beer Summit, Jan. 15 2011.

Bottle shared by Kyle, thanks! Poured a clear watery color with a slight yellow hue and no head whatsoever. Aroma had a sweet floral note with some lemon, syrup and honey with a slight tart note. Flavor was quite syrupy with floral and honey coming through with a bit of lemon in the finish. The mead was quite thick and syrupy on the tongue.

Bottle as an extra form pantap! One hell of an extra. If you want to send me good extras, finding unrated meads is ALWAYS highly appreciated! Pours with a mostly clear, very pale golden body with great legs. Aroma of honey, earthy, spicy, florals, coffee (?), vanilla, oak, tannins. Thistle, sage, grass. Graham crackers and cereal. Taste is medium to heavily sweet in the finish. Nice herbal honey character. Very fresh, reminds me of the outdoors. A bit oily, with a long duration. Flowers, earth and grass. Really strong floral taste up front followed by a lingering, lightly oaky sweetness. Somewhat light bodied for what I was expecting. Good stuff, really nice!

Bottle @ Miami Fandango ’10 gathering. Another thanks to Greg, tpd975 for sharing this third mead. Bigger bottle and probably my least favorite of the bunch. golden viscous color. Floral and sweet honey with wild flowers giving the palate a nice floral palate. Oak profile is mild and I couldn’t really pick much of sweet vanilla.
