Bottle shared with Undos and Gábor Gabor, courtesy of markoijelena. Mahogany pour with an off-white head. Nose is candi sugar, esters, nuts, a spicy ginger touch and rum and oak. Taste is also nicely balanced between the base beer, the ginger and barrel notes. Closes with a long lasting, slightly spicy, oaky, boozy and sweet malty finish, it has a medium to full body and soft to average carbonation. Tasty, works much more than I would’ve thought!

Dark brown with a ring tan head. Aroma of booze, alcohol, sweet malts, oak, glue and caramel with overripe dark fruits behind. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 27 Feb 2020) Dark brown colour, almost black, with frothy off-white head. Malty nose with caramel, coffee, raisins, prunes and dark bread. Malty, fruity taste with notes of coffee, dark bread, raisins, prunes, chocolate, dried fruit and a mild herbal bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Warming and powerful, but tasty and quite well balanced for its strength. Very nice.

Mja, weer vrij veel spiritus en wat hout. Quad is iets rozijnig. Ik heb zelden een lekkere rum BA geproefd en ook deze kan me niet echt bekoren

Sampled at THT December. Hazy brown with beige head. Booze, sweet malts, glue, sherry, green apples, cardboard, peat. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied. Nasty barrel ageing. Not good.
