On tap at The Beer Junction, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of intense rum barrels, a little roast, and plenty of booze. Flavour is extremely pungent on the rum barrels — being totally dominated by strong spirit, which I'm not a huge fan of it. At least it avoids being medicinal or perfumey. It's just not that nice a rum character and the base beer doesn't really show through. Not my thing.

33 cl. bottle shared with Suus and Rick @ Alex and Suus, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg.
Black with a very thin beige head. Coffee and chocolate aroma. Sweet taste with a sweet rum finish. The rum is, luckily, not too dominant; instead it adds a subtle sweet note.

Bottle. Almost black. Herbal rumaroma with vanilla. Malty sweet flavor with dried fruit, citrus and dominating rum. White pepper. Warming alcohol.

All a bit weak for me. Light rum, light boozy, light mouthfeel. Nowhere near as intense as I hoped. Flavours are good, though, not too much rum.

33cl bottle from Prik&Tik Kampenhout. F: medium, creamy, tanned, long lasting. C: black, opaque. A: dark malts, chocolate, dried fruits, brown rum, dried figs, bit coffee, cocoa, dried plums. T: thick dark malty base, chocolate, coffee, bit rum, bit woody tannins, dark caramel, dried plums, may be too much rum in aroma and also taste yet quite nice for me, full body and lower carbonation.

1st Feb 2019. 7th International Pre-Brugge Beer Swap in De Bierboom. Large sample from a bottle. Tanned top on a very dark brown/black body. Rum and chocolate notes in both the aroma and flavours, some Coffee too. Nice.

Bottle from Prik & Tik, Sijsele. Pours cloudy black with a lasting, small, stable, foamy, beige head; little lacing. Intense aroma of sweet licorice, aniseed, butterscotch, milk chocolate, candied fig, raisin, blackcurrant, ripe pear, mocha, marzipan, brown rum. Taste is medium to heavy malty sweet, quite fruity, notes of raisin & fig, ripe pear giving it a phenolic touch; light spicy bitterness counters some cloying with (sweetish) licorice & aniseed, pastis-like, roasted edge has chocolate, toast & nuts, alcohol already warming up in the mouth. Dryish, peppery hoppy finish, lingering raisin & licorice, and a firm dash of warming, almost astringent, brown rum-like alcohol, bit of a weird bitterness. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Promising in the aroma but out of balance in taste... I somewhat expected it with the rum.
