Sometimes you want a big beer to make waves and sometimes you just want a beer that makes a gentle ripple. Ripples is an elegant, floral, fruity pale. Bone dry and exquisite but then why wouldn’t it be that’s what Southampton’s Unity are all about.

Sunday evening 26th Aug 2018, the train home from Birmingham; four blokes sharing six beers, this was one of them. Misty light golden body, white crown. Semi-yeasty, semi-sweet, semi-sour and pleasant.

Can on the train back from the Brim Bimble, August '18. pours misty pale yellow, large white head. Light mellow saison sweetness on the nose. Taste has a good sweet character, pleasant saison yeast, lemon notes, light spice. Crisp refreshing saison.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up at Clapton Craft. Pours clear yellow-gold with a modest, frothy pure white head. Nice aroma, some lovely dry saison yeast, straw, lemon peel, crisp wheat flakes. Light sweet flavour with mild grassy bitterness, for dry wheat, straw, yeast. Light bodied with delicate, massaging carbonation. Further crispy, dry wheat flakes in the finish, more lemon peel, grass, moderate saison yeast expression. Straightforward, highly refreshing saison. Classically styled.

440ml Can - Golden with a slight haze and a white head. Lemon, hay and some spicy notes in the aroma. Lemon, yoghurt, peach and some yeasty and spicy notes.
