Clear amber brown with a frothy off-white head and sweet malt on the nose. Has a sweet berry fruit and caramel malt taste with a hint of spice and a dry bittersweet finish.

Thuis uit een halve liter fles. Mooie donkere amber kleur, goed beige schuim. Lekkere frisse geur en in de smaak eerst bittertje en een zoete smaak na. Heerlijk bier om mee te starten. Leuk historisch verhaal op het etiket over de RFA Galahad (schip, verloren gegaan in de Falklands).

Cask @ The Church Inn, Ludlow. Pours unclear deep ruby, cream coloured head. Good malt-led aroma, with dried fruit. Taste continues with a nice fruitiness behind the malts, a touch with woody with some caramel and peppery citrus. Lots going on for such an unassuming Welsh amber.

Cask at the Harwich & Parkeston Winter Ale Fextival 2017. Pours an attractive clear copper brown with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, malt and hop. Medium plus sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Good beer.

500ml bottle: BB Mar 2018. Bought at the brewery by a relation who’s dog I was looking after while they holiday’ed in Wales. Poured into an Abbot Ale badged glass tankard at home on 20th Aug 2017. Mahogany body, clear and clean looking, no head, even though I poured it robustly. Hedgerow fruits in the nose alongside a light maltiness. Taste same as the aroma, mild malty base with a red berry like flavour. Liked it.
