17/VIII/21 - on tap @ Craft & Draft (Amsterdam), BB: n/a (2021-850) Thanks to the misses for going on a beer tour with me!
Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige to brown head, pretty stable, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of cherry jam, nice roast, vanilla, caramel, lots of chocolate. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: little sourish, nice roast, vanilla, chocolate notes, little bitter, bit watery. Aftertaste: bitter touch, soft roast, some chocolate, vanilla, ok, not great. A bit thin and watery, was suspecting more alcohol and more sweetness.

Deep, opaque black color and a nice tan head. Nose and taste is sweet, marshmellow and cocoa. Mouthfeeling is a little thin, rather short finish.

Thanks to Erzengel! Pours pitch black with a thick, fluffy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, toasted nuts. Taste has more burnt malt, nuts, some cherry cordial notes. Palate has some sweetness, little bit of hops, burnt malt on the nose. Good.

Can from Geers, Oostakker. Cloudy black with a big, foamy, dark beige head. Aroma of marshmallow candy, banana, bubblegum even, 'Frappuccino', vanilla, milk chocolate. Taste has sweet banana candy, tad estery, marshmallow, chocolate & biscuit; some bitter coffee, abruptly slipping into a herbal hoppy finish, tad more bitter with lingering candy & marshmallow. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Nice enough but not very sophisticated.

Huge thanks to Erzengel for that one! Can looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Fine malty aroma. Starts mild, smooth-malty, mild sweetness. Well balanced soft malty finish. Quite drinkable. Nice one!

Brewdog Confectionist Contortionist Marshmallow Dessert Stout 6% Part of the same Fanzine series as off-duty clown. Deep only black with a dusty tan head of foam and a big sweet marshmallow syrup flavor. Full soft velvety body and creamy texture. The taste starts of very sweet marshmallow then gives you nutty roast flavors and ends with cacao. On the sweet side but it’s a dessert stout I that’s to be expected. I think if paired with vanilla ice cream or something to balance it out it’ll be really good. On its own the clown brew was more satisfying.

0,33 l can from Erzengel. Thanks a lot! Black in the glass, more than one finger frothy dark beige head. Sweet cherry fruity smell with some choco. Taste has a mix of sweet cherry with choco, getting a little bit more dry and to coffee and coconut in the second part. Some bitter hop. Interesting but not as deep as I expect a stout.

Can sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Black, tan foam. Marshmallow, very artificial, some chocolate, milk, sweet and sourish, lactose, a bit of unpleasant bitterness.
