Thanks! 330 ml. bottle sampled. Very pale amber, looks right about the same as the amber version of this beer which is hilarious, tanned head. Smell is oxidized even though fresh supposedly, plastic & metallic. Way too sweet oxidized plastic, sugar, stale candy BE, body is the same. Nope. Better than the Bruin for me but that kind of means nothing here.

Pours rather clear, warm blonde to amber. Small white head. Smell is sweet, corny, grassy notes. Taste is sharp, bit bitter. Malty. overcarbonated.

The younger brother of Lokeren’s Dobbelken, now called Dobbelken Bruin to avoid confusion, bottle from Van Eetvelde. Very thick and rocky, thickly cobweb lacing, yellowish white head, colour clear and pure amber. Aroma of green apple, overripe peach, freshly fermented farmland (quite strong), soap, caramel, hazelnuts, redcurrant, bubblegum, fairly strong iron doubtlessly hauling from head stabilizers, popcorn, banana, fresh grass, melting butter, some rubber, vague coriander hint. Simple fruitiness in the onset, some berries and some peach, hints of banana and weak orange, some bubblegum sweetness, soft and slick, bit sticky mouthfeel, soapy, somewhat metallic with a caramelly malt sweetness, very lightly toasted but not quite and unchanged in the finish, where it gets the company of only a very weak grassy hop bitterishness without true bittering power as well as a faint, bittersweet spicy touch. Straightforward Belgian amber, sweetish, simple and far less interesting than its dark namesake; lacks a bit of body for a 6.5% ABV beer, has some off-flavours and needlessly utilizes head stabilizers rending it an unpleasant iron aroma. Not very agreeable.

Bottle as ’neptunus’, brewed for shop De Honte. Hazy amber colour, medium creamy off-white head. Smells malts some mint.. Not a lot of smell. Tastes malty, hay, some iron.. Thin/watery body with quite a lot of carbo.

Bottle shared by Dutchdrebus. Hazy dark autumnal orange color, medium sized off-white head. Don’t get any aroma. Taste lightly malts, a slight sourish touch, a touch of caramel. A bit fizzy carbonation, low to medium body.

Clear amber to copper red beer, big fizzy light beige head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sourish, malts, green apples, bit dusty. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sugary, caramel, citrus, green apple, bitter, fruity. Aftertaste: candy, sugar, a bit off, sour touch, bitter hoppy ending, alcohol warming the throat. (with only 6.5? hmmm)

Huge amberish head over foxy amber beer, well carbonated. Creamy, malty nose, parsley and fresh garden weeds. Sweet caramelly flavour. Again flavour as from parsley, especially retronasal. Toasted and close to maltbomb. Warming up, I’m getting diacetyl. Quite creamy, slick MF, medium bodied, lively carbonation. Definitely not bad, if on the sweet side. And certainly one to drink chilled.
