Can: Poured a pitch black with a tan color head. Aroma is fruity berry with roast and light chocolate hint. Taste is malty with raspberry underlying sweetness with some more dark chocolate.

Can from a friend. 7%, so I think I'll stick it here as it says brewed a De Proef, but no mention of Beer 52. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of milk chocolate, faint red fruit. Taste is more chocolate, fruit is still quite low. Nice rich stout overall.

29th April 2019; Shrewsbury Beer Share Gathering at Chez Sophie. Only four of us this week, so mostly small bottles and cans were broached. I brought this 330ml can (BB 28th Dec 2019) from my Beer 52 collection. Deep, dark ruby body, head a light tanned affair. Raspberries in the aroma and taste, some mild choclate esters and flavours too. The dregs were bitter, but overall it was like a raspberry milk shake.

330ml can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, April '19. Thanks Jeremy for this. Pours dark ruby, frothy beige head. Light chocolate nose. Taste brings chocolate, subtle raspberry with a soft tang. Comfortingly light milky stout overall, soft bitterness. A little strange this contract-brewing thing, as doesn't give you much of an impression of the brewery on the label.

Black beer, thick head. Smells of malt and light tart fruit. Flavour is dry malt, berries, some dark chocolate. Something a little musty in the finish but it's decent enough. Rich and smooth so it's pleasant enough to drink.

Appearance is black, with a big clingy light brown head. Aroma- coffee, chocolate, dark malts, berry fruit, toffee, biscuity malt. Taste- smooth milk chocolate, roast malt, coffee, fruity hop hints. Hard to pick up the raspberry. Very smooth.

[33cl can from the Beer52 box for February.] An opaque black coloured pour with a reddish tink and thick coffee coloured head; aroma of coal tar; unpleasant taste of grains that have been roasted until completely burnt, giving an extremely bitter taste which almost completely masks the raspberry fruit. Not good.
