Cask @ Montgomery’s Tower, Shrewsbury. Pours a deep amber, small off-white head. Aroma is soft malts, lightly sweet. Taste is rather light with just enough caramel malt to make it drinkable. Not great.

A dark copper coloured ale with a big creamy head. Smooth tasting with a light malted aroma. Medium bodied with little flavour.

Cask handpull at Pembury Tavern. Deep chestnut clear lasting beige head. Its a deepish fruity best bitter. Some biscuit. Decent enough first beer of the day.

Cask conditioned, handpump at The Lamb & Flag, Oxford, 11.02.11 Dark brown in colour with a white filmy head. Bit nutty in the mouth and a bit sweet. Too be honest there isn’t an awful lot to criticise here but then in a way there is, its just thin and lacking in flavour, its a little malty, but just sadly dissapointing. However it was served in good nick by the pub. A5 A4 T5 P3 Ov8 2.5
