Cask at the moon under water Watford Jdw. A dark mahogany brown coloured pour with a halo of light tan head. Aroma is sweet brown sugars, twig, toasted toffee, caramel. Flavour is composed of layered sweet malts, plum fruit, jam, cake. Palate is very sweet, sticky, lowish carbonation. Very sweet malty beer.

Cask at the Bear (JDW), Maidenhead. An attractive dark tawny colour with a thin beige head; malty aroma with some red fruit and a touch of wood smoke; smooth in the mouth with a dry caramel taste; and some licorice to finish. Very drinkable.

Cask handpull at The County Hotel Ashford JDW. Black beer ruby highlights lasting tan head. Chocolate aroma. A little dark fruit. Juicy. Rather good.

Cask @ Montgomery’s Tower, Shrewsbury. Pours clear deep brown, off-white head. Aroma is spicy chocolate. Taste is christmas cake, chocolate malts, spice. Decent.

Bradford Beer Festival 2015. Clear copper-brown with a small head. Has slightly sweetened dark malts with sugars evident.
