75cl bottle @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, April 16, courtesy of myself. Pours dark brown with small off-white head. Pear drops aroma. Taste is sweet malt, dark fruits, brown sugar.. good, drinkable dubbel character, not overly sweet, nicely balanced. Decent effort.

13th April 2016: Shrewsbury Beer Exchange meeting. 075 litre bottle: cheers Mat for this offering. dark ruby pour with a wispy head. The nose seemed to have a mild paint/pear drop aroma which turned me off a little, luckily the flavour brought me back on track: liquorice, raisins and brown sugar all featured in the taste. Different and interesting, pity about the nose.

Rake. Cask. Dark brown beer, pretty much opaque. Residual tan head. Slightly soft palate, low carbonation. Sweet malts and generic fruits. Coca cola, sweetish yeast. Neutral finish.

Cask at the Rake - Borough Market, London. Pours clear, red-brown with no head. Nose has lots of bruised banana and sugary brown bread. Medium to big sweet flavor with lots of beaten-up, ripe bananas, some toasted and sweet bready malts, hints of alcohol, some Belgian candi sugars. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Swet finish with mild warmth, more of the same in terms of character: ripened bananas, sugary bread, candi sugars. Somewhat one-dimensional but very tasty and smooth for the heady ABV.
