Can - labeled as 13% abv - aged in Buffalo Trace barrels - clear amber - headless but fizzy - decent rendition of traditional barleywine caramelized sugars, treacle, dark fruit - moderate coconut and vanilla oakiness from the barrel - finishing warm and lightly boozy, with the bourbon coming to the fore in a warming finish - enjoyable, but not terribly complex.

Sampled from bottle @ RBBWG 2018, hosted by Beerlovers Bar, Antwerp. Nice brown / red-brown / dark red-brown color, small to average sized beige head. Aroma is malts, a hint of raisins even though it's not really raisins I think, more caramel and caramelised sugars. Taste malts, caramel, dark fruit hints, quite sweet, sweet ripe fruits. Nice, but close to being over the top sweet. Very solid though.

Sample from a 2016 bottle. Pours a clear, dark orange, with a medium, fizzy, tan head. The aroma is molasses, cinnamon, apple, pine, and raisins. Sweet and lightly bitter. Medium to heavy body, with an effervescent, grainy, and sugary mouthfeel. This is an enjoyable, balanced, and delicious beer. Nice!

Bomber via trade.

Thank you Sebletitje! 650 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBWG VI (2018). Dark brown amber, little tanned head. Nose is candied apple, herbal, low cough syrup. Bit too cough syrup but nice herbal oxidized apple, sugar, pie spice, syrup de Liège, apple, herbs,… Bit thin, imperfect but nice barley wine.

Pretty clear purple brown beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, dissipates quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, vanilla, soft roast, alcohol, pretty malty, some caramel. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, lots of jam (strawberry and raspberry). Aftertaste: sweet, sugary, caramel, jam, some vanilla, lovely stuff!

Bottle thanks to Bruce. It pours cloudy deep brown with a decent beige head. The nose is sweet, candy, caramel, big toffee vibe, earth, cocoa, vanilla, fudge and coffee cake. The taste is sweet, slick, toasty brown sugar, booze, vanilla, big toffee action, nougat, wood, fudge, chewy malt and some warming finish. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation. Sweet, yes, but very enjoyable nonetheless. Nice one.
