12th November 2014
Hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and minerally crisp. Light thin malts. Mild floralness. Mellow spices, cinnamon and ginger. Touch of citrus. Crispy finish. Not bad at all but I was really hoping for more of a Tom Yum spicy coconut, galangal and lemongrass thing.

Bottle @ Midlands Tasting Aug 14, at Richie’s Hop Palace. Pours gold with thin foamy head. Big spice aroma, big spice taste with cardamom, cloves and a touch of sweet malts... much stronger tasting than 4.2.

500ml bottle shared between six on 23rd Aug 2014 at the Midlands meet. Pours a golden copper with a white crown. The nose was floral with honey notes. Sweet flavoured brew with caramel coming through along with the aforementioned honey notes from the aroma. The finish however was fairly bitter and drying.

500ml bottle. Pours dark gold with no head. Aroma is sticky sweet malt with a hint of spice. Taste is watery caramel with a little spice in the finish. Like a watered down barley wine.

Bottle @ Hanuman, Todmorden. Available in the 3 Wise Monkeys bar too, which is included as part of the label. Golden with a small creamy head and a small carbonation. There’s spice in the aroma but it’s much more apparent in its taste. A good accompaniment for the food with its heavy ginger flavour, maybe less so on its own.
