A long way from Munich, our 50% German brewing team have taken inspiration from their homeland to produce this true to style rye-bock lager. tawny brown, full bodied and warming, with a peppery rye kick. Germany has a rich brewing heritage and this is (one of) their native tastes!

440ml can. Poured a hazy medium amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, red berry fruits, light floral hop. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter, with a biscuit dough, malt, fruit, hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

[440ml can from Mad Squirrel, Chesham.] A bright golden amber pour with a lasting off-white cap; fruity caramel aroma; rich grainy body with a butterscotch taste; and a light nutty bitterness; before a long smooth finish. Really good.

Can picked up from the High Wycombe branch of the Mad Squirrel chain. Consumed at home Thursday 22nd November 2018 whilst cooking a Prawn and Chorizo Risotto Pours clear Reddy/amber, really good clarity, a mid sized white head sits atop. Malty (Rye) with lots of toffee and caramel, a little bitterness but appears (to me) to be another good interpretation of the style. Good rye kick. A6 P5 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6
