22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy pale straw/yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tart lemon, lime, green apple, pear, pineapple, pear, melon, white wine, orange zest, peppercorn, hay, straw, grass, sea salt, wheat, cracker, light leathery funk/wood smoke, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/funky/spicy/acidic yeast and light-moderate pale/smoked malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart lemon, lime, green apple, pear, pineapple, pear, melon, white wine, orange zest, peppercorn, hay, straw, grass, sea salt, wheat, cracker, light leathery funk/wood smoke, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Moderate fruity/lactic tartness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, green apple, pear, pineapple, pear, melon, white wine, orange zest, peppercorn, hay, straw, grass, sea salt, wheat, cracker, light funk/smoke, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy/acidic yeast and light-moderate pale/smoked malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance, and zero puckering flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from tart/spiciness, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with very smooth, moderately crisp/acidic/grainy, and lightly saline balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is a very nice farmhouse Lichtenhainer style. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy/acidic yeast and light-moderate pale/smoked malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the balanced acidity. Was expecting more smoked wheat presence for the style; but there was still a decent amount building and lingering on the finish; and this had really nice Brett complexity overall. A very enjoyable offering.

Bomber shared by Pruf. Very clear straw color. It’s not smokey but tart, some tart candy, light bodied. Fun beer but not smokey. Short rating, I thinking I was falling asleep at this point.

Bomber from Wine Warehouse, 12/14/16. Hazy yellow, thin fizzy tan, decent. Aroma of wheat, funk, yuzu, earthy smoke. The taste is wheat, lemongrass, dandelion, white grape, vanilla. Medium bodied, bright, lingering tartness.

Very hazy golden coloured body with a thin off-white head and tons of bubbles rising from the sides. Aroma of sour cherries, brett, dry oak, grass and a touch of smoked and funky malt - and oh yeah, cat pee. Light-bodied; Strong sour flavour up front of lemons and brett with a little grass and hay in the mix and more dry oak. Aftertaste is a little complex with some yeast elements and bread noticeable, but this is all about the dryness and the bretty sour flavours with not much smoke flavours at all. Overall, a decent beer, but nothing amazing nor worth searching high or low for. A decent sour, a subpar smoked beer and not worth a lot of money. I sampled this ten ounce pour on draught at Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 10-November-2016 for US$5,00 at the end of my driveway.

Sample at SBWF 2016. Golden with a white head. Rather tart with funk, grapefruit, wheat and minerals. Also some hints of smoke. The finish was on the dry side.

Bottle drunk 9/17/16.
Viscous-looking, chill-hazed, maize-bronze body is topped by a large, off-white head that fades quickly to cover.
Sourness in the nose is straightforward and filled with juicy, tropical fruits, strong citrus and moderate lactic notes. Hops seem to be in there as well, but are difficult to differentiate from the other acids. Not a whole lot of smoke in the nose; more peppery, iodine-like notes than anything. Definitely feels along the lines of Gose Gone Wild, though with less hop character. Similar wheat and vanilla-honey malts in the background with good minerality overall.
Somewhat sweet and malty with tangy, tart acids and wheat drying it out. Lots of citrus, pineapple and nectarine with soft vanilla and finally some very dry, peppery smoke notes. Low to moderate carbonation, fairly engaging. For large production kettle sours from what seems to be, at best, a mediocre brewery (Crazy Mt.), these are quite enjoyable (if you like American sours, of course).

Tap. Pours clear golden with a medium creamy white head and good lacing. Aroma is quite lightly smoky with sour mash and light Brett notes. Flavor is light plus tart, light smoke. Light body. Interesting enough.

Pig sty, overripe lemon nose. Shimmering yellow, medium head. Tart lemon, subtle wood notes, mildly lactic. Light body, moderate carbonation. Good and sour but not as much personality. Aroma is a little off-putting.

22oz bomber. Hazy, unifltered yellow-tan body. Frothy, patchy, white head. Bright sour wheat tones. This is really quite excellent. I think the smoke is a little masked by the bold sour, certainly more a classic golden sour than a gratzer, for example. Has some nice funky barnyard notes, earthy depth. Really good stuff, though I would have loved to see more pronounced smoke tones.
