Sonata is the Montmorency cherry at its finest. We add whole cherries to our cider, stones and all. After five months of maceration we're left with cherry blaster fruit and grippy tannins, interwoven with sweet almond. Sonata is like cycling through the park with childhood friends, when life was less complicated. Beautiful in its simplicity: apple and cherry with the aromatics of our native microflora.

12oz can via Press online. Another clear Solo cup on the porch, post hurricane while we wait for clean running water. Only slight farts when opening this can. Last one was queasy. Clear, magenta pour, extra frothy. Scent is mild sweet apple juice, light vinegar & dish soap, masked by a floral & candied Jolly Rancher cherry scent. Taste is soapy strawberry & cherry Starburst, oily texture, slight chem burn, lingering floral, with only a hint of the lightweight tart cider base. If it's the same funky base, it comes off softer, mild, mushy, integrated well masked. A low-key mineral quality & saline residual left after the follow through. Thin with some light texture, soft to mid carbonation, middle high acid, lingering cherry astringency & pear-like sweetness prevails. Kinda good.

0.355 l can from Muted Horn, Berlin, shared with little Dina. Aroma is a balance between ripe apple and cherry juice, nice presence of tannic fruit skins in the flavour, apple skins, cherry skins, cherry juice, light honey, lightly vinous, a touch of candy. Moderate sourness backed by some sweetness. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Light tart finish.

Pinkish with some haze. There's some apple notes. Light cherry, a bit of cinnamon, spicy and the two fruits balance well.

Bottle sample at Farmhouse Fest 2022, pours a hazy bright reddish pink with a small white head. Aroma is musty, with tart cherries, hazy, and some musty apple skins. Flavour is full of tart cherries, musty notes, and crisp apple skins. Crisp, dry, gently fruity. Pleasant.

355 ml can. Pours an orange/ruby color with a couple of bubbles that dissipate quickly. Aromas of cherry gum and dried apples. Flavors of dry red apples and sweet cherries, with a little pie spice

(355ml can from the cidery webshop) Pours lightly hazy bright red with a tiny pinkish ring of bubbles and no lace. Aroma of juicy, sweet-tart and lightly spicebox-inflected cherry, nice Montmorency character, some skin tannin depth, ample barnyard and sweaty funk, hay, slightly wine-like but with some apple showing through. Flavour is very kriek-like with nice softly tart and spicy Montmorency flesh, moderate apple and pit fruit base flavours, skin tannins, soft funky hay, light citrusy acidity without much acetic acid, wine-like, finishing pretty dry and lightly tart with good lingering cherries and hay. Light to medium bodied with soft filling effervescence. A really nice funky kriek-like cider with the cherries really driving the show.

A hazed dark reddish cider with aroma of tart cherry, light Brett, light lactic notes, horse blanket, veering on Kriek. In mouth, a nice tart mix of apples, cherry, light Epsom salts, light Brett, smooth butter,.. Blind tasting, this would be a Kriek from Belgium.
