0.33 l bottle from 'Drinks & Gifts'. Pitch black with a medium large, frothy, stable, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, quite roasty, a little fruity aroma of dark chocolate, cocoa, hard roasted coffee, some whisky and traces of smoke. Gently sweet, malty, fairly roasty-bitter taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, cocoa, some licorice, ash, light whisky and hints of smoke, followed by a long, fairly roasty-bitter, minimally smoky and just a little boozy finish. Full body, smooth, almost creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very heavy, rather straight RIS with just a touch of smoke and unfortunately only hints of whisky. Still a good one, but I expected more influence from the barrel.

Bottle at home. Black with thin tan head. Sweet and deep roasted malts, almost charcoaltoast. Sweet and salty, boozy, peat-ish. Salty licorice, salmiak, ketjap. Ashy smoke layer. Quite nice.

Zwart met beige kraag. Turf, beetje whisky, geroosterde mout, droppig, iets leer, bitterzoete finish. Volle body. Lekker.

Black with a ring beige head. Aroma of Scotch, oak, chocolate caramel and licorice. Flavour is light heavy sweet and bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle. Black. Roast, smoke, ash and a hint of dried fruit in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with roast, smoke and chocolate. Vanilla, whisky. Low on carbon. Well balanced. Nice!
