Imperial Stout aged in Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels. In the aroma chocolate pralines, cherries, coffee, coconut, vanilla, barrel notes. Very thick in taste, full body with chocolate and coffee notes.

Opaque dark brown beer, residual pale tan head. Smooth palate, decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark chocolate laden malts. A little dark malt cream. Bitterish bourbon, spicy too but also a little fruity bourbon. Light semi dry finish. Not nuanced but a solid BBA Impy.

330mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out lots of bourbon barrel character upfront, with a little vanilla and a touch of smokiness. Flavour is very smooth, with lots of bourbon upfront, with heaps of vanilla, and medium roast. Creamy, oily palate with a rather soft profile in terms of abrasiveness. Excellent stuff.

Backlog rating. Tap at gollem. Pours black, lighter mocha head, medium sized and rather stable. Smell is sharp, roasty, bit booze from the barrel. Mild oak. Taste is intense, thick with a sharp, bit over the top bourbon character. Mild roasty backbone ends quite nice, in an ideal balance.bunfortunately, the first, initial taste is less balanced. Medium thick mouthfeel, medium low carbo.

Draft glass @ Gollem. Black, brief soapy non-lasting mocha head. Oddly similar to the Wild Turkey version,… Nose is very basic, sugar, cheap sugar, bourbon, candy, chocolate syrup,… Taste is basic simple sugar, soapy, sugar, chap chocolate, basic simple bourbon, messy, some harsh plastic, raw almost alcoholic, there is bourbon but it is very simple sweet sugar bourbon, candy lacking some base & some harsh plastic,… Definitely not optimal for the style but still nice to drink for sure.
