Seven malts were used to create deep flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. A hint of bitterness and herbal character from carefully selected European and American hops helps support the monolithic maltiness. After conditioning in stainless steel, the beer was then transferred into brandy barrels. For 15 months, our Dark Apparition waited patiently in these brandy barrels until the time was right to spring forth with its ghostly gusto. A truly decadent brew that is intended to be poured into your favorite snifter and given time to warm up from its dark and cool resting place.

Bottle picked up from Etre Gourmet webshop Grez-Dorcieau Belgium. Had this at home sat outside, after a very nice Salmon traybake. Listening to Marc Riley on 6 Music, Thursday 25th August 2022. Pours black with a tan head, very thick mouthfeel, lots of brandy, chocolate and very warming. Perhaps a little bit heavy handed with the brandy barrel ageing, but as ever from Jackie O's it's a decent drop.

375ml bottle pours an oily black with some swirling beige head. Nose has some booze, witchhazel, the brandy is there, some moonshine too, some malts, some spice. Flavor has booze, apples and apple sauce, some tobacco, some malt, molasses. Finishes full bodied and sticky. Lacks the luster of other versions.

3 oz. draft at Extreme Beer Fest, 3 Feb, 2018. Flavors you would expect: chocolate, nuts, and brandy. Nice full body slick mouthfeel. The brandy is still really hot. ABV is kind of a slap in the face. Massive warming after the sip. Needs time to mellow out.
