Tap at BPBW'19, Saturday session. The sweet, NE-like hoppy character had more emphasis than the rather held back bretty funk, but still an interesting and pleasant beer.

Tap at 100 piv. Assertively wild, but not in the typical bretty way. As expected with 100% brett, it is rather fruity, peach, general stone fruits, well rounded. Light dank basement kind of yeastiness. Med-full body, med-high carbonation. Moderate bitterness, medium sweetness. Med-light hops character, less than I would expect. Citrusy, cantaloupe, fresh feeling. Good.

On tap. A clear yellow golden beer with a white head. Aroma of bretty fruits, grapes, pale malt, bitter floral hops. Taste of moderate floral bitter hops, quite present brett notes, pale malt, moderate bitterness.

5 July 2019. At Dok Brewing Festival. Cheers to Anke & Ghent beer crew! Hazy ochre, lasting, small, foamy, white head. Aroma of passionfruit, old yellow apple, peach, pineapple, sourdough, lime, melon. Taste is light to medium fruity sour, notes of gooseberry & passionfruit with a lemony-wheaty edge, next to sweetish impression of peach & pineapple, somewhat bitter stonefruit underneath. Dryish, floral hoppy finish, lingering sourish yellow fruit, brett & stonefruit. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Well executed hoppy Sour.

Brettanomyces-refermented IPA from a Luxemburg microbrewery I hadn’t heard of before, at Dok Brewing Festival. Creamy, thick, papery lacing, stable head, misty golden blonde robe with straw-yellowish tinge. Aroma of damp haystack, old moldy grapefruit peel, dry bread crust, white pepper, wet leather, banana peel, jute bags, dried peaches. Fruity onset, notes of banana, peach, pineapple and green melon, lively carbonated with the carbon dioxide adding mild sourishness, smooth bready malt body with an earthy, funky, hayish Brett effect showing up retronasally, adding dryness, old lemon peel effects and earthiness to a leafy and grapefruity hop bitter finish, dry and refreshing. I like Bretted hoppy beers a lot – it must have all started with Orval so many years ago – and this is a very good example, would love to revisit it bottled actually.

Clear yellow beer, big creamy white head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: floral, herbal, bit fruity, funky, sourish. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: dirty, funky, sourish, bitter touch, bit malty. Not a big fan.
