Come sundown, who doesn’t love putting their feet up with a beer in hand? We certainly do, and so do the Pacific Crest Trail thru-hikers that take a break from their 2,600-mile trek at our Tasting Room. We brewed this highly drinkable porter with rich, roasted aromas and notes of dark chocolate for just such occasions – with lasting smoothness and a sweet finish, this porter is the ideal end to a long, satisfying journey.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: black in the glass with a two finger eggshell white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: dark chocolate, coffee roastiness, lighter tones of milk chocolate
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together to a fine bitter to roasty to sweet character; mild finish of roast and dark chocolate
Texture: light to medium bodied, between sessionable and being a sipper, some roasty stabs to the tongue, the smoothness level seems a bit lower here
Overall: pretty good porter I believe I could have again.

Classic porter. Light and dry and crisp without to much roast or sharp bitterness. Instead the lager-like crispness gives it that quenching drinkability. Sterk Amsterdam

Ganz ordentliches Porter, hätte durchaus etwas kräftiger sein können. So aber wie beschrieben ein prima Durstlöscher nach dem Wandern.

$2.99 can from Total Wine, Gainesville VA.Pours brown with a ridiculous beige head. Aroma is candied chocolate, cocoa, light fruit. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, green/brown leaves. Average at best. Drinkable, but nothing worth seeking out.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, thin tan head. Aroma of malt, nuts, earth, a bit of metal and a touch of smoked peat, coupled with some toast and grain. Medium-bodied; Strong roasty flavours with a bit of peat, mushrooms, earth and a dose of sugars show through at first, and ends with a bit of sweetness. Aftertaste shows some metal, malt and toffee with earth and a light hazlenutty finish. Overall, a nice porter that shows on the lighter side, with a dose of sweetness, metal and most strongly - peat. Nice to sample given that i’m not in Oregon! I sampled this sixteen ounce pour on draught at Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 17-August-2017 for US$5,00 sampled at the end of my driveway.
