Barrel aged Quad is brewed in the spirit of collaboration. We combine traditional techniques and ingredients like Belgian candi sugar with American innovation and experimentation by the use of bourbon barrels. Our Quad is amazingly balanced and smooth while maintaining the dark fruit notes that are the trademark of the style.

Bottle @ home shared with Inoven. Nice clear amber to dark amber color, average sized quite quickly diminishing off-white to beige head. Aroma is malts, quite grainy, bourbon. Taste malts, candy sugar, bourbon, slightly toffee. A bit thin texture imo, especially with this kind of ABV, decent to medium carbonation. In the end: a fine beer.

Bottle from Ales by Mail, I think. Pours hazy amber-brown with a thin ring of off-white head. Aromas of toffee, vanilla, caramel. Taste is sweet, woody, more vanilla and toffee. Cleans up on the finish.

Keg at BrewDog Soho - London. Pours clear, deep brown with a creamy khaki head. The nose holds cherries, toffee, lightly toasted bread, other ripe berries. Medium to heavy sweet flavour with a lot of ripe berries, nips of cough syrup, more toffee, bread. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, a little sticky, some toasted toffee, more cherries, light vanilla. Enjoyable but a bit simplistic.

Bottle shared at home. It pours clear deep brown with a small white head. The aroma is rich, oaky, sweet, sticky, candy, dark fruits, jammy, light vanilla and earth. The taste is dry, bitter, chewy, earthy, wood, dark fruits, berries, jam, date, fruit, some warming alcohol, leather and a bit of peppery spice with a drying finish. Medium + body and fine carbonation. Rich, fruity and warming. Works rather well.
