Barrel aged Quad is brewed in the spirit of collaboration. We combine traditional techniques and ingredients like Belgian candi sugar with American innovation and experimentation by the use of bourbon barrels. Our Quad is amazingly balanced and smooth while maintaining the dark fruit notes that are the trademark of the style.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a large brown foamy head with good amount of retention and lacing. Aroma of candied malt notes with some vanilla, bourbon and some oak notes are also noticeable. Taste is a mix of caramelized malt with some candi sugar notes with some oak, vanilla and light warming notes of bourbon also noticeable. Body is about average for style with good amount of carbonation and some alcohol notes are apparent. Enjoyable mix of intense flavours but maybe a tad too sweet for my taste.

Sampled from 0.355 l bottle, 2017 vintage. Clear, dark reddish brown with an off-white head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, vanilla, some prunes and traces of chocolate. Quite sweet, malty, slightly bitter taste of caramel, honey, vanilla, some prunes and traces of wood, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly boozy finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Solid.

On tap at Brewdog Milton Keynes, we have a gig to attend at Milton Keynes Gallery (Daniel Blumberg) Pours hazy/murky brown. Woah.... This is a boozy number, really boozy, woody, vanilla, lots of barrel ageing, molasses. It gets better but it's a bit of in yer face. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.7
