On tap at Old Schoolhouse, pours an amber brown with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and a touch of coffee. Flavour is light but quite dynamic, with toasted malt and a touch of coffee. Light-bodied but well-balanced. Good stuff.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 7/26/12

Aroma: The nose has roasted malts, bittersweet chocolate, and hints of fruit, earth, and ash
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a small beige head and some light, spotty lace
Flavor: It tastes medium-plus sweet, with lots of malty flavors, eventually leading to a late bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a soft carbonation, and a smooth, dry roasted mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I found this to be a quite solid Porter. The combination of the sweet malt flavors and the later bitterness worked pretty well in my opinion. Everything about this one hits the correct marks without really hitting either the good or the bad extremes.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thin, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate and a bit of very light hops - very nice! Medium to Full-bodied; Strong chocolate and coffee flavours with a lot of roasted malt and a bunch of pit fruits and raisin flavours finish out the taste. Aftertaste shows more chocolate and roasted malt than anything else. Overall, a nice and complex sweet porter - close to a sweet stout and a deep (almost baltic) porter. Nice to sample, given that its from Washington State. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Ye Olde Spirit Shop in Frederick, Maryland on 29-July-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 17-September-2010.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours clear, but very dark, reddish brown with a slight foamy beige head. Aromas of chocolate and dark malt. Medium+ body with light, foamy carbonation. Flavor is very dark toast, but smooth, with a touch of chocolate. Must be a lot of hop because it finishes more bitter than most porter, and it doesn’t seem to be from burnt malt. Mild chocolate in the finish. Pretty refreshing.
