As Egidius Winter. Very dark brown colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have a lot of dark roasted malts giving plenty of bitterness. Has a floral peppery note too.

At Wieze Bierfestival, 18 March 2018. Deputy Taster: Anke.
Hazy dark brown, almost black, with a frothy, quickly diminishing beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, candied banana, dark fruits, (light roasted) coffee, hint of bourbon. It tastes medium malty/chocolatey sweet with light fruity sour notes, then light to medium roasted bitter. Dry, bitter, bit hoppy finish and warming alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Enjoyable.

Thanks for sharing! Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ Kerstbierfestival 2017. Dark brown to black. Nose is bit empty dark fruit syrup, raisin, figs, alcoholic. Plastic liquorice oaky bitter roots, plants, syrup, raisin, fig,… Fairly okay & shockingly good for something brewed at Boelens.

@ Wieze Beerfestival 2017. Pours dark brown. Good white head. Smell is roasty, Taste is full, roasted grains, bit sweet. Complex, full. Very rich. bit complex undertone. Some mild plastic features (rather hidden) that really bring the beer down.
