Blanche Allemande houblonnée. Possède une mousse dense ainsi qu’une robe opaque orangée. Arômes dominants de banane et d’agrumes avec un côté vineux rappelant le vin blanc. On peut distinguer le clou de girofle légèrement présent dû à la levure. Amertume moyenne mais présente.

Panda via Grumbo.
Mostly clear orange with an off-white head. Aroma of strong caramel malt, citrusy hops. Taste is sweet, caramel malt, grapes, resinous, a bit herbal. Medium bodied. A nice beer but no obvious Weizen character here, it's more like an old school DIPA.

17/1/2026. Can at ITFC Beer share. From the Norwich Arts Centre fundraiser following the World Beer Awards. 7.5% abv. Interesting one, strength comes through. It’s a bit musty but quite liked it.

Bouteille 341ml. Couleur cuivrée voilée, mousse beige pâle fugace. Arôme de malt légèrement grillé, alcool, Nelson Sauvin, un peu poussiéreux, un peu fruité. Goût de malt, houblon fruité, amertume moyenne-faible, levure. Carbonatation moyenne-faible, corps moyen.

Hazy light amber coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall tan head that fades relatively fast. Aroma of grass, big yeast, coriander seed and a bit of citrus as well. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and yeastie flavour up front with a large bitterness of earth, yeast and a touch of earthy and perfumey hops. Aftertaste shows some bitterness with a slight hoppy note, some light sweetness, but a big herbal and grassy kick of grain. Overall, a decent beer, if that - the wheat and yeast just show way too strong and overpowering, that was decent to try, but doesn’t need to be sampled by everyone, for sure. I sampled this 341 mL bottle purchased from Marche Des Saveurs du Quebec in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 14-February-2016 for CA$2,59 sampled at home in Washington on 16-May-2016.

Les premiers arômes se présentent sous forme de cannelle, mais surtout de clou de girofle. De légers accents de banane s’infiltrent, accompagnés d’un soupçon de résine. Également présent: une touche alcaline et minérale rappelant le Chablis. Le liquide est ambré, orangé et voilé, coiffé d’une toute petite mousse qui tient à peine. L’attaque est sèche, alcoolisée, avec de fortes notes de résine. La combinaison alcool et résine est envahissante; ce qui écrase les épices et les fruits, donnant une finale longue et une amertume soutenue. Mais, passé ce mur d’amertume, on arrive à percevoir des notes d’orange, de fruit de la passion et de mangue. En bouche, elle présente une superbe rondeur; quasi liquoreuse, avec un bel équilibre. Par contre, le coté vineux ressort très peu.

Le parfum de cette bière est tout simplement renversant!! Je ne suis normalement pas un fan du Nelson Sauvin mais là, c’est trop excellent! Au goût, comme on s’y attendait, la levure prend beaucoup de place et l’alcool, un peu trop. Les fruits sont très présents, notamment les pêches (ou abricots) et les raisins verts.
Update 08-07-2015; un petit 0.2 de plus parce que c’est bon et très frais ;-)
Update du 8 avril 2016; on sent de la coriandre et du clou de girofle, le parfum est moins "punché" qu’auparavant...

Bottle: Poured a hazy dirty beige color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of huge dry hoppy notes with some light grassy notes. Taste is also dominated by loads of dry hoppy notes with some light grassy notes. Light funky notes are also noticeable with some solid wheat malt. Body is full with excellent carbonation. Good but the hops are just too dominating which leaves very little drinkability.

Pours a hazy golden-amber colour with a frothy warm cap, good retention and some foamy lacing. The nose is pretty hoppy with some mild Belgian yeast. Peachy notes appear with time and this is felt in the taste. Nicely balanced between the weisse with the banana notes from the wheat and IPA with the grass form the hops. Still, something feels off in the aftertaste. Interesting, but like my weisse not too hoppy.
