On tap at the brewpub. A black that looks like cola with red highlights. The nose is malty bready dark beer with light citrus. Dark cherry bready caramel medium malts. Tasty.

Nice, well-rounded brown ale. Nice light roast malt with a little hops in nose. Pours dark rum amber without any head but ok lacing. Finishes with note of bitterness. Great grain profile, very much a whole-wheat cereal. On tap at brewpub.

On tap at Benelux, pours a fairly clear dark amber with a medium tan head. Aroma of caramel malts, and some toasted nuts. Flavour of toasted nuts, some very weird spices that I can;t put my finger on, low sweetness. Dominated by those weird flavours. Decent, but nothing amazing.

Brown with a thick head. Relatively malty aroma with light nuttiness and some herbaceous hops. Toasty notes with a crackery character. Good, balanced brown. I didn’t rate it the first time I had it, but I had to come back just to make note of it.

(automne 2006).

A clear brown ale with a thick resilient moka head. A rather herbal and nutty aroma, light chocolate notes, peppery notes appear later. In mouth, a strange yet good nut briwn with lots of citrussy hops, not bad. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, July 25, 2009.
