Black pour, with a large beige head. Dark roast, burnt coffee, vanilla, and cocoa powder on the nose. Medium mouth feel, medium carb. Medium to highly bitterness, very sweet, and rich, yet incredibly roasty, with soy, and vanilla chocolate cake.

500mL bottle, pours black with a tiny tan head. Aroma brings out medium roast, with light oak. Flavour is a bit chalky, with charcoal, cocoa, and roast. Way too chalky. Not working.

Keg at Brothers Beer Bistro, Ottawa. Black, small beige head. Huge aroma of pears, vanilla and licorice. Mid dry with medium body and near crisp, firm mouthfeel. Pears, tea, vanilla and licorice. Lightly grainy with peppery warming bitter finish. Elegant and drinkable, yet complex. Next level!

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with light grassy herbaceous hops, light mineral notes, OK. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light grassy hops, light licorice, burned Caramel, light coffee grind, musty character, pleasant. On tap at Brother’s Beer Bistro.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of black chocolate and light dry roasted malt is OK. Taste is also a mix of dry roasted malt notes with some black chocolate notes and some faint coffee notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Lacking a bit of character and complexity for the style.
