Amber with a thin, frothy head. Faint toffee aroma. Taste is weedy bitter with a lingering herbal bitterness that stays fairly mild.Thinnish, watery texture. Can‘t say this reminds me of a Bock at all, much less a good one.

on tap at la saint bock in montreal. Clear copper popur, slight off white head. Faint malty aroma, doesnt really smell like much. Some hops in the flavour, but you really gotta look for them. Meh, decent i guess.

Medium copper with a small off white head that doesn’t last. Nose is caramel with very light grassy hops. Light sweet all the way through with a light accompanying bitterness. Medium light thin mouth with soft carbonation. Not much distinguishing character.

Évaluation no.32. Octobre 2010. Nez houblonné. Ambrée / orangée. Mousse très persistante. Attaque maltée avec forte présence de houblon. Bien balancée. Légère amertume en arrière gout.

Bouteille 341ml. de couleur ambrée foncée et légèrement voilée. Nez de caramel légèrement rôti, léger houblon floral avec des notes fruitées (notes de prunes) et quelques traces de toffee. Moyenne-mince en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-doux et une texture un peu huileuse. Goût très légèrement fruité (notes de prunes rouges) lors de l’entrée en bouche suivi rapidement d’un goût de grains de malt aux notes rôties, léger de caramel avec des traces de toffee terreux et de butterscotch puis en finale, l’on retrouve une légère amertume de houblon plutôt herbeux. Post-goût moyen, très légèrement amer de houblon herbeux avec des traces rôties.

Bouteille 341ml. Couleur ambrée. Mousse peu présente et moyennement effervescente. Arôme de caramel, d’épices, de houblon. Au goût le caramel est présent, mais on goûte moins les épices. Une bonne bière dans l’ensemble.

Originally rated March 2006. After having the Bock Émissaire from Bièropholie, I am trying this one. Bought at the Dépanneur de la Rive in Cap-Rouge, Quebec. Pours a lighter colour that is amber and cloudy, with a high level of carbonation. The off-white head is very creamy, big and ever-lasting. Some lace is left, but not much. The nose is quite hoppy with floral notes. Mouthfeel is between watery and syrupy. The taste is pretty mild, almost watered down. Some slight caramel and hop. Not too bad, but prefered the Bock Émissaire, because this one is lacking in the flavour department.

Pours with an amber colour for sure, but absolutely no head. Aroma of slightly barn-funky malts and grass. Taste is wet rye bread and a dry sharp cherry finish. Very rousse-like and pretty good, rather tasty though simple.
