Location: Draft at the HopsScotch, 1/17/14

Aroma: The nose is pretty much all coffee and roasted malts
Appearance: Pours a dark brown color with a creamy light brown head and full lace
Flavor: The taste is much the same, lots of roasted coffee
Palate: The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, drinks pretty easily
Overall Impression: This is a nice, one-dimensional coffee porter. It is pretty much exactly what you think you are getting going in, which is not a bad thing at all.

On tap @ Rattle N Hum. As good as black in the glass this and it has a nice medium sized brown and kinda sidesticking head. Oh, my this is a coffee infused aroma. Reminds me if the famous Coffee Bender. Like nosing a fresh grounded box of coffee. A bit one dimensional perhaps, but I really love fresh grounded coffee. It goes in the taste also. A bit light and the carbonation is one what soft, but my oh my that fresh coffee is amazing. Dark a bit toasted and just really tasty. Dark some chocolate paper in the aftertaste. Good! 13.06.2013

On tap at Tapwerks. Pours a near clear deep brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a nice rich bitter coffee note with backing roasted malts and dark grains. Flavor has the same rich coffee bitterness the mellows to a light finish of dark grains and roasted malts.

Tap at Rattle, pours blackish brown with one finger head. Nose of roasted coffe beans. Tastes of coffe grinds, cola, malt, and I’m getting chili peppers and bacon. Would almost guessed it was a smoked beer. Anyways tasty.

Sample at 1808 American Bistro during the Bell’s Tap Takeover. The beer pours brownish-black with a medium beige head that dissipates steadily. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee and malt. Medium body with a roasty character and notes of dark chocolate and malt. The finish is malty with a coffee aftertaste. Above average overall.

Draught. Weak roasted aroma, some coffee. Black colour, clear red shine. Small light brown head. The flavour is a little sweet, but rather pleasant, roasted and with coffee, like the aroma. Mouthfeel on the light side, but acceptable.

Draft. Deep brown body. Tan head, slowly diminishing. Aroma of roasted malt, smoke, char and molasses in the background. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture and moderate to lively carbonation. Smoky taste which is unusual for a porter. Some chocolate and coffee notes in the taste. OK.

On draft @ Sunset Grill and Tap. Nose of a fresh bag of Italian roast coffee. The coffee dominates the flavor with a lot of roasted malts. If you are a coffee lover , you are going to enjoy this. EXCELLENT at room temperature!!. I have nothing bad to say. I hope I get a chance to try this again. A great after dinner porter.
