An organic northwest sour ale. This beer is fermented spontaneously on the Logsdon Farm, so all yeast and lactobacillus are naturally occurring from the surrounding orchards and forests of the area. Malt sweetness and flavorful hop additions give way to subtle layers of acidity and mouthwatering tartness. This beer represents our transition to wild ales; our conversion to the wild side.

Keg at Local Option - Chicago. Pours clear gold with a white cream topping. Light funk in the nose, some lemon, wheat. Mild sweetness to the flavour, with mellow lemony tartness, further wheaty notes, some bitter citrus rind, grass. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, tart and citrusy, subtly musty, a bit funky. Very, very nice.

Draught at Meadhall, 5/17/16.
Very softly hazy, flaxen-gold with a medium-sized white head that shows strong retention.
Light lemon, yogurt and bright, fruity brett notes in the nose show an almost cedar-like woodiness with soft touches of honey and cracker. Not overly funky but just fantastically soft and vibrant with even wood and bright brett. Surprised this is this high in alcohol too, as itβs nicely concealed.
Dry, lemony and with soft vanilla-tinged honey notes that are well-attenuated. Light wood character mixes with soft acids and more citrus ending with tons of yellow fruit notes (nectarine primarily). Soft, but engaging carbonation helps keep the beer lively and drinkable. Low on the funk, but itβs not a bad thing here as this is a wonderfully executed, clean, bright, not-overdone wild ale with tons of tart and juicy notes and ample malt texture. Really bizarre that this comes from Logsdon having had many of their other beers. Those are well-intentioned but usually quite messy/jumbled and show little of the finesse of this one.

Darft 7 oz pour at the Barrel House, and the topic of long discussion. Very interesting beer here, and excited to hear we will be seeing some bottles soon. Pours a mostly clear golden color with an infinite amount of lacing. Apple and sour pear heavy aroma. Flavor matches, with a sense of complexity. A ton of flavors going on, with a lighter beer feel. Sour wit? Unique. Loved it.
