Het Anker Double Ambrée is a clear copper colored beer with a warming glow. The fruity taste with hints of caramel is strengthened by a delicate hoppy touch. Despite its high alcohol by volume (7.8%), this beer is refreshing and very well-balanced.

At Zythos 2017. Pours unclear brown. Aroma is candied malts, light piney hops. Body is medium, decently sweet, lively but low carbonation. Sweet medium palate, quite sugary throughout. Good.

Thank you for sharing German speaking RB Crew! Sampled draft @ ZBF 2017. A high ABV amber, weird idee & one that doesn’t work for me, kind of what I expected. Its very cloying BE as expected, bit of a struggle. Deep hazy orange amber, creamy white head. Nose is very sweet BE cough syrup, cloying caramel,.... Taste is very sweet malt, sugar, cloying, syrup, condensed, candy, very sweet, yeast, sugar, milky sweet, candy, very cloying, sticky,... Body is thick candy, malt sugar,... Very sticky, thick as expected I suppose,... Hard to drink.

Hazy light brown colour. Lots of complex malts and sugars. Fairly sweet. Very smooth and full bodied.

Sampled at Zythos 2017. Thnx for sharing ☺ Pours unclear dark amber. Small white head. Smell is sweet, some ambermalts. Taste is bit bitter. Hollow maltyness. Boring, hollow beer, with a sweet undertone.

Tap. Hazy orange color with white head. Aroma is phenolic, boozy, peach, caramel. Taste is phenolic, spicy yeasts, caramel and toffee again. Oily mouthfeel. Not exciting.

23/IV/17 - on tap @ Zythos Bier Festival 2017 (Leuven) - BB: n/a (2017-504) Thanks to kraddel for sharing today's beers!
Clear amber beer, small creamy white head, little stable, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: sweet, banana, yeast, caramel, some vanilla. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, very sugary, alcohol, caramel, little bitter, hoppy touch, ripe banana. Aftertaste: little bitter, alcohol, sugary, caramel, some toast, more ripe banana, yeast, quite some vanilla. Not bad at all...
