5/X/23 - 50cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte), shared @ home, BB: 1/IV/19 (2023-808)

Clear deep red brown beer, big aery fizzy irregular beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: nice, fruity, dried fruits, a bit of vinegar, oxidized, somewhat earthy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, earthy, pretty bitter, a bit sourish, dried fruits, a bit sweet, oxidized, brett notes, Madeira and Port, some red wine. Aftertaste: caramel, soft acidity, oxidized, lots of caramel, some earthy notes. Decent, though probably past its prime.

Bottle, 0.50l. Aroma of red wine, berries, dried fruit, must, wood, nuts and whiskey. Pours murky brown color with medium sized quickly diminishing tan-like head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts sour vinous and ripe fruity, following is woody, earthy and toasted, mouthfeel is warm and mild spicy, while finish is mild herbal bitter. Medium body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. Well done moonshine...

Bottle. Reddish dark brown color. Oaky vinous aroma with grapes. Sour soft oaky flavor, vinous with grapes. Wet oak dominates. Hint of caramel. Low on carbon. Nice.

Dark brown colour, small steady beige head. Aroma has strong cellar, some toasted notes. Medium-bodied. Very fizzy. Some tartness, wineous, earthy cellary, wineous, toasted malts, berries in the flavour. Has potential but this is too cellary - probably not really what they wanted to. Barrel-ageing is not always easy...

Bottle from Taboada. Many thanks! Dark brown colour, lots of beige/brown foam, disappears quickly. Nose of red fruit, sweet malts, wood, vinous notes, tart grapes and berries. Very well balanced: sweet, tart and light woody bitterness. Great beer!
