Thank you for sharing German speaking RB Crew! Sampled bottled @ ZBF 2017. Dark amber, little tanned head. Nose is weird hugely sticky licorice, medicinal plants, bark, herbal, sticky, cloying, nasty,.... Taste & body are hugely fizzy, metallic, medicinal plants, cough syrup, quite rubbish, far too fizzy, metallic with unpleasant plant & cough syrup notes. Pass.

Bottle. Brown color with small tan ring. Aroma is oak sugar, raisins, some figs and a touch of toffee. Taste is raisins, dark fruits, some oak sugar again. Foamy carbonation. Okay, not excellent.

At Zythos 2017. Pours clear brown. Aroma is strong malts, caramel, acetone. Body is strong and sweet, yet not too heavy, lively carbonation. Palate lingers sweetly. Okay.

Stark karbonisierter Antrunk. Malzig herber Beginn, leicht röstig, die starke Karbonisierung stört. Trocken, etwas holzig, rund-abgesehen von der Karbonisierung. 10/9/9/9/8/9

Bottle thnx to Joris Pyl himself. Pours 100% foam ( thats a first ! ) yet not a gusher. when the foam clears ( somewhat) the beer underneath is clear, caramelly brown. Smell is weak. Taste is good though. Roasted malts with creamy features, an earthy, forest leave complex taste, mild boozy (not for 14 abv though ) rather bitter. Not as sweet as imagined. Perhaps this is my least favourite of the Brewery so far though. The taste you get is simply not worth the 14 ABV, you can get more tasty beers for that. it’s somewhat a skill to make a drinkable beer of 14 %, but I can’t imagine anyone else cheering for that, accept for people who want to get drunk FAST. And I have a hard time believing this is even close to the people Joris is aiming for. Perhaps this beer could be improved with a more full body, more complex notes, hack - maybe even more sweetness would do . This is simply drinkable, but way to strong for what it is.

New beer from this beer company in my home region, tasted at Wieze Bierfestival. Thick, pale yellowish beige, lightly lacing, moussy head, translucent bronze robe with mahogany reddish-brown hue. Aroma of dried fig, very old raisins, earth, autumn leaves, butterscotch, ’jenever’, beetroot, old cloth, dried banana. Mildly estery onset, dried fruit sweetness again, touch of banana ester and red apple peel, medium carbo, full and smooth body. Caramelly malt core with a lightly bittering toasted edge, phenolic ending with earthy hoppiness and some warming alcohol, but there is absolutely no way that this carries a formidable 14% - it tastes like half that amount of alcohol. The brewer promised me that he would have it recalculated so this is subject to revision. Regardless of this, a perfectly acceptable beer but somewhat crude and earthy, like the two other ones.

Clear dark purple to deep red brown beer, huge creamy light beige head, can't properly pour the beer, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: caramel, banana, sweet, big sugary, yeast. MF: very lively carbon, medium body. Taste: some caramel, lots of dark chocolate, pretty roasted, little sweet, pretty bitter, dry, bit malty, some banana, bit sourish. Aftertaste: caramel, chocolate, bit sweet, sourish, pretty yeasty, soft bitterness, roasted touch, nice.
