A reddish brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, nice caramel malt with loads of chocolate malt, grassy hops, light treacle, pleasant and nutty. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with loads of roasted malt, chocolate notes, light coffee, nice and smooth. On tap at brewery.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated immediately. Sly rings of lace stick to the glass nicely and leave some trickles here and there.
The aroma blends nicely some roasty coffee bean, subtle sweet chocolate, some caramel malts, toast, and nuts. All comes together quite well.
The flavor yields to the roastiness first but ends up allowing some milk chocolate, caramel sweetness, toast and nuts all roll into one in this category, the more it warms, the more it seems to come together. Rich sweet nutty to coffee aftertaste leads into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a great sessionability about it. Low carbonation feels good and a captivating smoothness rolling over my tongue with a touch of stickiness, not cloying.
Overall, a very nice brown ale that leans towards the English side of the wheelhouse. I would definitely have again.

Tap, at the brewery. Chestnut brown. Light haze. Thick, off white head, that collapses in the middle to a film. Good looker. Nose has light smoke. Roast, chocolatey malts. Light hop. Taste has light sweetness. Smoky dry. Thinnish palate. Finishes light, and smoky dry. Interesting beer, but not my cup of tea.

Draft from the source in a four oz. glass. Dark brown color thin head. Aroma is toasted grain, light nutty hint, mineral water, English yeast, maybe.
Flavor shows me English yeast, toasted grain, generic malts, mild nutty hint again. Texture is mildly watery, very flimsy body. I want to like it but it is very nondescript. Not bad.
