A pale blonde ale with a thick frothy white head. In aroma, nice fruity biscuit malt with light sulfur notes, banana esters, cloves, light curacao, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity biscuit malt with grassy hops, light grapefruit, light curacao, silky mouth feel, very nice. On tap at Saint Bock.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of clean cereal notes with light fruity ester. Taste is also dominated by light fruity ester with some clean cereal notes and light residual sugar notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Easy drinking with limited amount of complexity.

Quite pale, blonde, weak head. Fruity aroma, very Belgian, pear, kind of Duvel-like. On the palate, very dry, austere. Thin body, touch of alcohol late. Slightly herbal finishing hops. Maybe less of that pear on the palate than the nose.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Cloudy dark blond color with compact head. The aroma is fresh, a bit spicy and soapy. Good body structure at this gravity, not completely dry; it has a very strong spicy yeast character, and strong hop component; both of good quality, but as often happens the two are in conflict, the result is not harmonious. Strong final, some harsh citrus fruit peel too.
Nice but rough.

Draft - Sweet and perfumy pale malts with some light herbal notes. Clear pale gold with a decent white head. Perfumy and herbal with a bit sweetness that finishes with a mellow bitterness. Not bad.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a cloudy yellow / blonde with a small white head. Nose is very subtle, with some light dry hopping apparent. Flavour is dry and hoppy, with floral notes, Belgian yeast and light biscuity malt in back. Well-hopped, offering a fairly prominent astringency on the finish. Not overly complex or pleasing, but acceptable and drinkable. Decent.
