330ml bottle from The Bottle Shop, Bruges. Drunk at the Listening Experience. Pours a deep gold, aroma is sweet, syrupy apple fruit. Taste is moderately sweet, commercial, lightly syrupy yet palatable. Could do with a bit more soul but its drinkable and certainly more flavoursome that the Brut.

330 ml. bottle @ home. Purchased @ Delhaize. BBF 22.08.2018. We have a Belgian cider here, there is only a small number of Belgian cideries with no notable ones. Whilst Wallonia might have a lot of French influences neither Wallonia nor Belgium in general have much interest in cider. There is some industrial stuff around but as far as I can see the market is very limited with little marketing or interest. This one is made with 100 % Jonagold apples which is the most common breed in Belgium & marketed heavily but really a really bland fruit. The marketing bears economic necessities. This one fizzes like Cava, its unsettlingly clear. Nose is awful urinal apple, abrasive with spoiled urinal notes & some iron. Taste is less horrible luckily but still some cheap apple slash urinal qualities. It is awfully heavy on carbonation maybe trying to appeal to Belgium revolting love of Cava, taste is all chemical lemonade sweet apple, overly carbonated & sweet in the worst fashion with imitation Sprite. Nose is abysmal, tastes flirts with the worst of alcoholic soda pop stylings of cider. Conceptually this is horrendously bad & that from a non-major brand, taste wise it’s just rubbish. Once the carbonation disappears a bit it gets some nearly drinkable apple lemonade overly chemical sweet qualities but really it is still rather rubbish. I think that the other ratings are too kind, you can manage it but the whole thing conceptually is just sad really.
